FAQ

  • Can you match my existing paint colors?

    • Yes, we can match just about any paint color in your home using a chip of paint or wet sample. Even if you do not remember the original color codes, we can still match the color.

  • How often should I paint my house?

    • The frequency of painting will vary depending on the location of your home, the local climate, the types of surfaces that are painted, and other environmental factors. On average, most homes will need to be painted every 8 to 12 years. Homes with more sun exposure may need to be painted more often than ones with lots of shade.

  • If damage (dry rot, drywall/texture etc.) is found during the project, can Artisans Choice Painting do the repairs?

    • It depends on the scope of the damage but generally, yes we can.

  • Do I need to be home while the painters are working?

    • No, it is not required that you be home during your painting project. We can put a lock box on the door so that your keys stay on site or one of our Forman will maintain them for the duration of your project. With that in mind, we like to have someone there for the start and end of your project. First to walk you through our process and lastly to do a final walk through at project completion.

  • Do I need to move my furniture before the painters arrive?

    • We prefer to have all furniture and personal effects moved prior to start of work but if you let us know before hand, we can arrange to get this done. However, we do not move fish tanks, pet enclosures, pictures or electronics without a release of liability.

  • What types of paint are used?

    • We prefer Kelly Moore paints over their competitors. They can match any color you provide.

  • Can I buy the paint and only pay for labor?

    • We can acquire paint products at much lower prices because of the quantity we purchase and our relationships with paint suppliers. In most cases, it will cost more to buy your own paint. In the event you still prefer to purchase your own paint, you should bring this up while we're planning your project. Artisans Choice Painting does not guarantee customer purchased products.

  • Is there a warranty on my painting project?

    • Most projects come with a one year mechanics warranty. Meaning that if we missed something or didn't paint it properly, we will come back at no cost to you. Keep in mind that if you bump a wall while moving furniture, the warranty does not apply.

  • Who goes first, Carpet or Painters?

    • Generally, paint would go first. It's more cost effective for the customer because we don't have to add in costs to mask off floors. We are very capable of coming in after flooring if needed.

  • Do i need to paint exposed wood right away?

    • You should always have raw wood treated in one way or another (Prime and paint, Stain, etc.). Exposed wood is susceptible to insects and rot.
